"Friendly service"
No one at front of house when we arrived and our QR code for self checkin would not work.
When front of house turned up very helpful and friendly.
One of two lifts not working
room clean bed very comfortable.
Bar prices very good and the service very good.
We have stayed in this hotel a few times and the staff always say welcome back.
Must point out, only one bar staff serving on most of the occasions we have stayed but you don’t have to wait long because the barman James works very hard and always with a good evening and always very cheerful.

"Great staff, ok room"
Staff were very good - the room was adequate but not worth the amount we paid in our opinion.
My wife and I needed a night in Southampton after returning from a cruise and we needed somewhere to store our luggage until we could check in.
I had tried phoning but only got an answerphone so we just called in and the lady working in the lobby was very helpful.
Once checked in, the room was ok - bed was good but the shower wasn't great and the hair drier didn't work.
We also decided to eat in the restaurant and the staff there, despite clearly being under a lot of pressure, were friendly and efficient. The food was also excellent.
The hotel is relatively close to the city centre so offers easy enough access to the shop and train station.
Overall, staff were great as was the food but the room was adequate

"Horrible Room"
The room was awful. It smelled of stale cigarette smoke and made all of our clean clothes smell foul.
On the positive side the staff were excellent and happy to help us with parking and an extra fan for the room. No aircon during a heatwave.
I certainly would not stay here again.

"Top of class service for gluten free customers"
The room is clean and spacious, the restaurant staff James and Shelley are very helpful and friendly to help with my husband’s gluten free breakfast request. The breakfast is cooked and the cutlery is prepared separately, very considerate and thoughtful!

"Terrible, give it a miss"
Stayed during the recent heatwave. The hotel had no air con in the rooms, instead we were given a fan that despite sounding like an aircraft just managed to circulate warm air through the room. The window opened, slightly, which only worsened the situation as the room was above a railway line with freight trains passing throughout the night.
A busy hotel during the hottest may days on record only had one lift working, which was such fun.
I have only given the hotel 2 stars because the young lady in the restaurant in the evening was managing to keep customers happy while wrangling some pretty inept colleagues who managed to get a gin and tonic wrong.
All in all a disaster of a stay topped off with what I can only describe as a bird sh*t bonanza on the roof of our car in the morning (don't park under the trees!!)
