"Fabulous staff"
The hotel appears to be run on skeleton staff, each time I've been here. So service can be occasionally slow. However, the staff are all so incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, consistent and comfortable. Foods alright, not outstanding nor rubbish. The hotel ticks all the boxes for the budget. The staff are the stars of the show here. Such a credit and an asset.
"🤨"
From the outside the place honestly looks like the back of a pub. Checked in on the machine (self check-in) which was fine, but when I got to my room on the 3rd floor it absolutely stank of sewage. Went down to reception, the lady there couldn’t understand me and just kept saying “I don’t understand.” The guy next to her quickly stepped in and said “change room, change room” three times. Got moved but the new room still had a bad smell, was boiling hot, the window was jammed shut, and the walls had random patches where they’d clearly tried to cover up marks with paint that was a completely different colour – looked really messy. Breakfast was terrible – really greasy, most of the trays were empty and the whole place was overcrowded. You’re honestly better off walking down the road to Wetherspoons
"Parking Fiasco"
Room had bad smell in bathroom, marks on walls painted either such watery paint that marks still visible and added paint runs . Paid for overnight parking £16, had to run an errand and on return no parking spaces left, was told no refund and had to park elsewhere for £20 overnight meaning the cost for parking on top of room was an extra £36 was told if I had paid for parking at reception they would of explained all of this, however I was asked if I had paid for parking by receptionist and congratulated on doing this before checking, I feel this was a good time for parking rules to have been explained.
"Very friendly and warm. Food is lovely too"
My experience was amazing from the moment I arrived. Staff on reception were friendly and warm. Staff in the restaurant were helpful and friendly. The hotel is very convenient to town and the oracle centre.
"Good value"
Cannot complain about service, and breakfast was more than adequate. Dinner was good value. Room was comfortable and bathroom adequate. Carpets in common areas need a good clean, however, the bedroom one was good.
