Newcastle Airport hotel

Convenient location and parking Room dirty, bathroom worse. Dried faeces inside toilet rim. Debris lying on the carpet. Breakfast dry and way overcooked. Toasters take forever so your breakfast goes cold while you wait. Told we hadn’t prepaid for breakfast and were charged, luckily I found my confirmation and was refunded. Scruffy hotel. Sticky tables.

Really enjoyable visit to Premier Inn Newcastle. The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were spotless. Beds very comfortable. Great to have a fan in the room too with the humid temperatures. Great night sleep. The only slight gripe I had was being charged an additional £9.90 for parking overnight. This wasn't clear on booking and it's the first time I have been charged for parking at a Premier Inn. I assumed this was covered as part of the room booking.

The accessibility of the bedroom and bathroom were suited to my needs. The bed was so comfortable and the food and beverages were very good. I’ve used Premier Inn at various locations over the years and this was my first time at the one nearest to the airport. I’ll definitely be looking at staying there again ahead of any future flights.

Very let down by our experience with this premier inn. Having used Premier Inn across the whole of the UK for many years I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences we have had. The cleanliness of the bathroom really let the rooms down. Lots of pubic hairs left in the bath, worrying brown mark at the bottom of the door. My wife opened up her towel to discover some worrying marks, as if the towel hadn’t been washed. Lots of marks of the bed linen also. Black mold was also present on the bathroom sealing, this was evident in both or the rooms so I suspect it’s a problem across the whole hotel. Breakfast was a complete let down, having one member off staff to do the whole breakfast area is very disappointing, had to wait 10mins for her to realise we were waiting to be seated. Then a further 15mins for her to take our order for hot food we which then arrived cold. This is no means the women’s fault very poor management from the hotel. The reception staff were least than helpful when we raised our concerns in the morning, we were told all of our concerns would be noted but I doubt that very much. Overall the hotel is very run down compared to others we have stayed in, definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The location for convenience for the airport is outstanding. However after a long warm flight and arriving exhausted in the early hours of the morning we were not expecting a room temperature of 24.5 degrees. A noisy fan pushed the hot air around. Did we sleep- no. We left even more exhausted and wished we had just driven home after our flight. The room was so warm we didn't even bother to attempt to shower and as we hadn't slept we checked out much earlier than expected. We again raised our concerns to reception to be told it's a warm hotel.
