      "Great visit"
From the moment we walked in until we left the staff were lovely, very approachable and friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable, especially the bed, we had some great nights sleep. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower was amazing! Brewers fayre pub next door, where we had our meals, serves a good Continental breakfast, or full English if preferred, basically an all you can eat! Already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Durham North.
"Quiet hotel with parking and nearby Park and Ride"
The hotel was clean and tidy with friendly staff. I had neglected to note no lift at the hotel which was a bit of an issue as we were away for a few days and had heavy cases. Had intended to use a local bus to get into Durham but this was a bit of a hike so used a nearby park and ride instead which worked well.
"Great hotel, shame about the restaurant."
We have stayed in many Premier Hotels in various locations and have always been more than happy. Whilst the hotel and the staff were excellent, the experience was marred by the service at the adjacent Beefeater. The menu had so many things unavailable that we finished up with our third choice of meal and the wait for the food was unacceptable.
      "Restaurant gone down hill.☹️"
We stay at this hotel when we go to see family in Durham,on this occasion we were disappointed in the restaurant we always stay for breakfast, cold food fried eggs came out like rubber and were cold so was the bacon, sausage, beans etc when we asked to see the manager she said what do you want me to do, i suggest get a food thermometer no one want cold greasy food.we can't fault the hotel staff friendly and helpful, we won't be using the restaurant again shame it was so good.
"Faulty Towers is a real place"
My wife & I stayed Easter weekend, 6.30am Easter Monday we were woken by a delivery artic right outside our window, the noise was horrendous & went on for half an hour. This was followed by the bin collection. No point in complaining, the guarantee of a good night's sleep is just a gimmick. I've tried to complain with good reason in the past to no avail. We ate at the restaurant twice, gluten for punishment. The first night we both had steak, totally inedible. The next night I thought we'd try something different. I was served a translucent fried egg which I don't think had been introduced to any heat. The onion rings were burnt to a crisp but they still managed to serve them stone cold, as was the rest of the meal. The Lasagne was tasty & hot but the portion was more fitting for a small child. The girl serving was so stoney faced, she obviously didn't want to be there, this was confirmed when they closed the pub at 9.30pm. I feel sorry for any hotel guests that checked in after this time & fancied a drink.
