"Very disappointed visitor."
I went to this hotel for a significant birthday due to its location at the side of the River Tay and the stunning views, however I was left very disappointed with the room not being what I booked, the window looking onto a wall providing very little light to the room, the fact that children were running up and down the corridor banging on doors meaning very little sleep was had. I did report this after my first night but I'm now being told by guest relations that the staff at the hotel are denying that it was reported, I was given the guest relations card and contact number by the staff member and told to contact them when I checked out and he would speak to the manager when he came in, as he was due in that day even though it was bank holiday Monday.

"Disappointing levels of cleanliness in the bathroom"
Bathroom floor had not been cleaned, damp in the skirting boards, flaking paint and damp on the roof and black mould in the shower, very disappointing for what was a once spotless hotel that I have stayed in many times before. Even the bin in the bathroom was rusty.

"Great location, shame about the cleanliness"
The location is brilliant, beside the Tay, the V&A Dundee, the Discovery and the train station. You need to read the food menu very carefully or you may be stunned by some of the dishes that arrive.
The worst thing was the bedroom I wanted the room to be cleaned BEFORE I got into it. When I arrived, after eight hours travelling, I cleaned the toilet seat – yes really – and the bath, full of black hairs, before I headed back downstairs and requested to go on the list for the following morning, just to have the carpet cleaned. Yes ma’am, or similar by a man I was assured but no apology was given. The following morning, I checked and I was NOT on the list, so I asked again. Yes ma’am, or similar by another man, I was assured and still no apology forthcoming.
So when I came back to the room about 4.30pm, to discover the bed had been made as though new (not requested), the towels had been replaced as though new (not requested), I threw down my bag and launched myself back downstairs. Being tired is not good for me but I got to the reception, and a very nice young lady called Yolanda, and I explained, quite patiently, what I wanted AND that this was the third time of asking. I would clean it myself, I said, but I don’t travel with a vacuum cleaner. Bless her, she said sit in reception and I will go and do it now. And she did. Not perfectly, but sufficient. And she apologized. The room was not clean but it was cleaner.
