"Absolutely rotten. Really disappointed"
I booked a family room for my partner, autistic son & myself. I had tried booking elsewhere, but had no luck, everywhere was full. We eventually arrived after a very long journey & it took ages to find a place to park as there were people without disabled badges in the disabled bays. I tried using the self check-in kiosk, as requested, however one was out of use & the other free one wasn't activating key cards, so I had to go to the bar to speak with a member of staff & book breakfast. I was told we could do it in the morning, so I left it at that. Having booked a family room before, I asked for an extra mug, as they always forget the 3rd, but was told our room had been made up for 3. We got to our room to find ONE cup. One, for THREE people! The double bed was awful. After an unsettled night, we decided to get up, shower, eat & head out for our day out. The shower had black mould & the extractor fan was really dusty. After opening the curtains (it was dark on arrival so I didn't notice) I found more mould & dead insects. My son was so upset & unsettled by this that we ended up getting dressed & leaving hours earlier than planned. When I complained, all she said was "Oh dear, I'm sorry" This was our third visit. The first time, I booked a family room. It was shocking. After reporting some dangerous issues, we were told they were sorry & were having a complete refurbishment, with new staff coming in & things would soon be better. The second time, we decided that, maybe, as it had been nearly a year & had had the refurb, it would be ok. We booked a double room & it was ok, no major problems. False sense of security given. Last weekend, we booked another family room. Deeply regret it. Our family weekend away was ruined because the housekeeping team did not do a thorough job of our room & it caused a massive autistic meltdown. It could have been prevented had they just done the job they're paid to do. Family rooms are definitely not given any attention to detail or made up for a family, which is frustrating because you state how many people will be there when you book it!! The photos I uploaded were taken AFTER I had already tried cleaning the mould & had flicked 2 dead insects out of the window.
"Really nice"
Lovely premier plus room with fabulous bathroom. Facilities in the room were really good and really nice toiletries. Comfy bed so a Good nights sleep and free parking.
"A very busy Tuesday evening at an understaffed Cardiff North Premier Inn"
easy booking in through QR code on phone. Pre booked Easy Access room was next to the lift and ready for our use. Scramble for drinks and meals due to lack of staff. The few who were there were trying to help customers book in, take meal reservations, serve drinks, show people to their tables to eat and even tasking food orders. There needs to be a table reservation system in place as at present people who have made a reservation are treated the same as those that just turn up and have to wait for a table at their chosen time in the same way as those that haven't bothered to make a reservation. Service at 7 pm was very very slow with a delay of 20 + minutes before we were even asked for our order. Others who came at the same time were served much quicker
"Great base to visit Cardiff"
Brilliant base to visit Cardiff. Good value especially with the food deal. I have a wheat and gluten allergy and felt very safe eating there. I had gluten free bread for toast in the morning, they toast the bread separately from the main area. I could also have bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans and any form of eggs. I heard the staff ask everybody turning up to the restaurant if they had any food intolerances, if you did, they gave you the menu and the food intolerance book which showed you what you can have. I had a burger with a gluten free bun in the evening. Can’t wait to return to do some more sightseeing of Cardiff.
"Great stay"
The team at the hotel are excellent. The rooms and bathrooms are excellent. Hotel exterior is dated. Really like the big shower as opposed to the shower over a bath.
