Carlisle (M6 Jct42) hotel

Great location next to motorway for easy access, room spotless and very comfortable, no lift but very few stairs and corridor not too long like some. ALL staff from reception to restaurant in the evening and breakfast in the morning just so positive and welcoming, gave tip to amazing restaurant girl/s in the evening and compliments to breakfast staff with a ‘big thanks’ for cooking of breakfast food, including wife’s Vegan sausage and non-bacon. Everyone came for breakfast at the same time as happens in hotels at times but the staff managed so well, seriously ALL represented the brand fabulously. So many Vegan options available and the one’s wife had she absolutely loved.

I Stayed at this Premier Inn for a visit to family. I regularly stay here but on this occasion I received 2 parking charge notices from Horizon parking who run the car park. I did enter the required registration number into the parking machine as requested. The stress this has caused by trying to contact Horizon to appeal has caused me much anxiety to my mental health. The Horizon website would not accept my appeal process and I had to find a contact number to then ring them to be told we don't accept appeals by phone and was given a email address to send it. This should not happen and Premier Inn need to get their house in order and stop causing duress to their guests. I will not be staying at any of their hotels again if they use Horizon Parking and JCT 42 is certainly off the list .

Beds ok. Bathroom badly serviced. Cooked breakfast COLD!. There was much to much food, in volume, laid out on counter under the heating lamps. Less volume replenished more often would be better allowing the food to be warm

Checked in just after 3pm allocated Room 130 which was not listed on the signs indicating where to find the room so ended up having to search for it. The room had one tiny window in one corner - restricted light and natural ventilation. Booking had been made weeks in advance so no excuse that it was the last room available. Won't be booking with PI again unless absolutely no other option.

Dirty room dusty bed had been aged but had stains cup and spoons used and bathroom had hairs and scum in bath , stairs also not the best, bed horrendously uncomfortable
