"Comfortable Room, Disappointing Customer Service"

I stayed at this Premier Inn for one night before flying back to Qatar. Overall, the room itself was very good, but the customer service let the experience down.
The room was clean, spacious, and well presented, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I had an excellent night's sleep, which is exactly what you want before an early flight. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning. Fortunately, the weather was fairly mild during my stay, so opening the window was enough, but on a warmer summer night I imagine the room could become quite uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, the experience at reception was disappointing. I arrived at around 2:30 pm, just 30 minutes before the advertised 3:00 pm check-in time. Rather than being greeted with a simple "Good afternoon" or a friendly welcome, the receptionist's first words were, "Do you have an early check-in?" When I explained I was only around 20–25 minutes early, I was simply told I would have to wait until 3:00 pm. I completely understand that check-in times exist for a reason, but the interaction felt unnecessarily cold and lacking in even basic hospitality. I ended up waiting outside in my car before returning to check in.
The same impression continued the following morning. As I left, I said, "Good morning," but received no response at all.
A hotel stay is about more than just the room. While the accommodation itself was comfortable and exactly what I needed, a warm welcome and a simple acknowledgment when guests speak can make a significant difference. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as a friendlier approach from the front desk would greatly improve the overall guest experience.

"Great service yet again."
Nice, clean hotel just a few minutes walk from the town's pubs and restaurants. The bedrooms were very clean and a fan was provided which was needed in the heatwave. The meal deal was great value - an evening meal, a pint and full breakfast for £26.99. The food was very nice. Good service in the bar on the evening from Steve and excellent service from the very friendly Paula for our delicious breakfast. Free parking in a big carpark was a bonus these days.

"Excellent service!"
Employees does really lovely service specially marie :) she quickly check me in and guide me where are the facilities i might need. She also arranged my booking for dinner 5 stars for her! Its my first time booking here in this place, lovely experience!

"Mathew the not so good barman"
Receptionist with the broken foot was spot on and very good at her job
The maids and cleaners were excellent and very thorough with the cleaning
The breakfast staff were very helpful and efficient, well done
The chef was very friendly and a professional
And then the bar opens at 5-9pm
We went in at 5.15 and there was no one to be seen and then Matthew rocks in 5 minutes later I ordered a pint of morreti and before I could order my next drink he said that will be £6.50 and hadn’t even attempted to pour it
Can’t make cocktails and not very good at customer service
He then disappeared when my desserts where ready and some one else had to serve them and the sticky toffee pudding was cold
So all in all Mathew has changed my mind and I will not stay at premier in again and I don’t think Lenny Henry would be happy with the service we got from Mathew
